Intro
K17-FA-1 is a fixed steel monotower satellite platform in Block K17 of the Dutch Southern North Sea, installed around 2005. It is a production gathering node that routes gas via subsea pipelines to the K14-FB-1 and onwards to central hubs for processing and export.
Field
The K17 field, part of the K14-K18 gas province, produces high-calorific gas from Slochteren Formation and Rotliegendes reservoirs. Satellites like K17-FA-1 support field development by extending production reach and tying back into shared infrastructure.
Facilities
K17-FA-1’s facilities focus on production wellheads, manifolds and subsea flowlines linking it into the Block K14/K15 export network via K14-FB-1. It lacks extensive processing; gas is routed to larger processing hubs. Its monotower design is a distinctive structural feature offering a compact footprint. Stable elements include remote control systems, subsea tie-backs, basic utilities and safety shutdown arrangements.
