Intro

Enchilada is a fixed offshore platform in the Gulf of Mexico, installed in the late 1970s, producing oil and gas. It serves as a processing and export facility within a mature shelf development, with direct pipeline connections to regional infrastructure.

Field

The Enchilada field lies on the Gulf of Mexico shelf, producing from Miocene and Pliocene sandstone reservoirs. The field is relatively mature, with multiple stacked reservoir intervals typical of shelf-edge depositional systems. Development is moderate in scale and integrated into broader regional infrastructure.

Facilities

Enchilada consists of a fixed steel jacket platform supporting production wells and processing facilities. Wells are drilled from the platform and completed as dry-tree producers. Production fluids are routed through separation systems to divide oil, gas, and produced water. Oil is exported via pipeline to onshore terminals, while gas is compressed and transported through regional gas networks. Produced water is treated prior to discharge. The platform includes utility systems such as power generation, typically via gas turbines, and control systems for monitoring operations. The structure supports multiple decks housing processing equipment, wellheads, and living quarters. Export pipelines connect to established shelf infrastructure, enabling continuous transport of hydrocarbons. The platform design reflects conventional fixed installation architecture used in shallow to mid-depth offshore environments.
