Intro

Vito is a deepwater semi-submersible floating production platform located in Mississippi Canyon Block 984 in the Gulf of Mexico. First production began in 2023. The facility produces oil and gas and is designed as a cost-efficient host for subsea developments, exporting hydrocarbons via pipeline systems.

Field

The Vito Field lies in the Mississippi Canyon area and produces from Lower Tertiary (Wilcox) sandstone reservoirs. These reservoirs are deep, high-pressure, and geologically complex. The field is moderate in size and represents a phased Paleogene development.

Facilities

The Vito facility is a semi-submersible FPS installed in approximately 4,000 ft (1,219 m) of water. It processes hydrocarbons from subsea wells tied back via flowlines and risers. Topsides facilities include separation systems, oil stabilization, and gas compression designed for high-pressure service. Oil is exported via a new 24-inch pipeline connecting into the Mars oil pipeline system and onward to Clovelly, Louisiana. Gas is exported via a 12-inch pipeline into regional Gulf of Mexico gas infrastructure. Produced water is treated prior to discharge. The facility includes water injection systems for reservoir pressure support. Power generation is provided by gas turbines. Subsea infrastructure includes manifolds and electro-hydraulic umbilicals. The design emphasises reduced weight and simplified systems compared to earlier deepwater platforms.
