Intro
Delta House is a deepwater semi-submersible floating production system in the Gulf of Mexico, producing oil and gas since 2015. It serves as a central hub facility, processing hydrocarbons from multiple subsea developments and exporting via regional pipeline infrastructure. The installation is moored in deep water and designed to accommodate future tie-backs.
Field
Delta House is associated with the Mississippi Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico, primarily producing from the Delta House and Sonoma fields. Reservoirs are Miocene-age turbidite sandstones deposited in deepwater channel and fan systems. The development is moderate to large in scale, with multiple subsea fields tied into a single processing hub.
Facilities
Delta House consists of a semi-submersible floating production unit connected to multiple subsea wells via manifolds and flowlines. Production fluids are routed to topside facilities where multi-stage separation processes split oil, gas, and water. Oil is stabilised and exported via pipeline, while gas is compressed and transported through offshore gas networks. Produced water is treated prior to discharge. The facility includes water injection systems for reservoir pressure support. Subsea infrastructure includes insulated flowlines, risers, and electro-hydraulic umbilicals for control and chemical injection. Power is generated onboard using gas turbines. The topsides are designed for high throughput and flexible routing of multiple streams, allowing integration of additional tie-backs. Advanced control systems manage subsea wells and processing operations, with redundancy in critical systems to ensure reliability. The platform functions as a regional hub, optimising infrastructure use across several fields.
