Intro
Shenzi is a deepwater tension leg platform located in Green Canyon Block 653 in the Gulf of Mexico. First production began in 2009. The platform produces oil and gas and acts as a host for subsea developments, exporting hydrocarbons via dedicated oil and gas pipelines.
Field
The Shenzi Field lies in the Green Canyon area and produces from Lower Tertiary (Wilcox) and Miocene sandstone reservoirs. The development is moderate to large in scale and includes multiple subsea accumulations tied back to the central TLP.
Facilities
The Shenzi TLP is installed in approximately 4,300 ft (1,311 m) of water and supports both dry-tree wells and subsea tie-backs. The facility includes multi-stage separation, oil stabilization, and gas compression systems. Oil is exported via a 20-inch pipeline into the Caesar oil pipeline system, which connects to the Poseidon network and onward to shore. Gas is exported via the Cleopatra gas pipeline into the ANR pipeline system. Produced water is treated prior to discharge. The platform includes water injection systems for reservoir pressure maintenance. Power generation is provided by gas turbines. The TLP is moored using vertical tendons and supports top-tensioned risers. Subsea infrastructure includes manifolds, flowlines, and umbilicals for well control.
