Intro
Tahiti is a deepwater spar platform located in Green Canyon Block 640 in the Gulf of Mexico. First production began in 2009. The platform produces oil and gas and acts as a host for multiple subsea developments, exporting hydrocarbons via pipeline systems.
Field
The Tahiti Field lies in the Green Canyon area and produces from Wilcox (Lower Tertiary) sandstone reservoirs. These reservoirs are deep, high-pressure, and geologically complex. The field is large in scale and represents a major Paleogene development in the Gulf of Mexico.
Facilities
The Tahiti spar is installed in approximately 4,000 ft (1,219 m) of water and supports subsea wells tied back via flowlines and risers. The facility includes multi-stage separation, oil stabilization, and gas compression systems designed for high-pressure production. Oil is exported via a 28-inch pipeline into the Caesar oil pipeline system, connecting to the Poseidon network. Gas is exported via the Cleopatra gas pipeline into the ANR pipeline system. Produced water is treated prior to discharge. The platform includes water injection systems for reservoir pressure maintenance. Power generation is provided by gas turbines. The spar is moored using a catenary mooring system and supports steel catenary risers. Subsea infrastructure includes manifolds and control umbilicals.
