Intro
Na Kika is a deepwater semi-submersible floating production platform located in Mississippi Canyon Block 474. First production began in 2003. It processes oil and gas from multiple subsea fields and acts as a regional hub, exporting hydrocarbons via major pipeline systems to shore.
Field
The Na Kika development covers multiple fields in the Mississippi Canyon area, including Kepler, Ariel, Fourier, Herschel, and others. Reservoirs are Miocene and Pliocene deepwater turbidite sandstones. The project represents a hub-style development integrating several moderate-sized accumulations through a single floating production facility.
Facilities
The Na Kika facility is a semi-submersible FPS moored in approximately 5,800 ft (1,768 m) of water. It receives production from a network of subsea wells tied back via flowlines and risers from multiple fields. Subsea manifolds gather production and route it to the host. Topsides processing includes multi-stage separation, oil stabilization, gas compression, and dehydration. Oil is exported via a 30-inch pipeline into the Mardi Gras Transportation System, delivering crude to onshore Louisiana. Gas is exported through the Nautilus gas pipeline system. Produced water is treated and discharged or reinjected. The facility includes water injection systems for reservoir pressure support. Power generation is provided by gas turbines. Advanced control systems manage subsea and topsides operations. The design allows for multiple tie-backs and long-distance subsea connections, making Na Kika a key deepwater hub.
