Intro
Ravenspurn A is a fixed steel jacket wellhead platform in the Ravenspurn South gas field, installed in 1989 in Block 42/30 of the UK Southern North Sea. It produces natural gas and associated condensate, delivering reservoir fluids via pipeline to the Cleeton processing hub. It forms part of the Ravenspurn South A/B/C cluster.
Field
Ravenspurn South is a Permian sandstone gas field in the Southern North Sea, discovered in 1983 and first produced in 1989. The field lies mainly in Block 42/30 (extending into 42/29 and 43/26) and is developed with multiple small platforms tied into the Cleeton hub. Recoverable gas reserves are significant on a regional basis.
Facilities
Ravenspurn A hosts several production wells on a steel jacket with facilities to collect well fluids for primary phase separation. A and neighboring B combine fluids for three-phase separation on deck; gas and condensate are then exported via a 16-inch pipeline to the Cleeton complex. Water separated offshore is disposed of overboard within regulatory limits. The platform has basic utilities for power and safety systems and is normally attended or periodically visited for maintenance. There are no large dehydration or compression trains on A itself; these functions are performed either at Cleeton or on adjacent infrastructure. Condensate may be co-exported with gas through the Cleeton hub for onshore processing. A’s layout emphasises simplicity, focusing on well production and initial separation rather than mid-stream processing.
