Intro

Ravenspurn ST2 is a steel jacket wellhead and production platform in UK Southern North Sea Block 43/26a, installed in 1990 as a satellite to the Ravenspurn North Central Production Platform (CPP). It handles natural gas from nearby wells and exports via the central complex to onshore systems. It is unmanned and tied physically to the RNCPP hub infrastructure.

Field

ST2 is part of the Ravenspurn North gas field, a conventional Permian Rotliegend/Leman Sandstone gas accumulation about 65 km east of Flamborough Head. Discovered in 1984 and first produced in 1990, Ravenspurn North covers multiple fault blocks and is developed through a central processing complex with satellite wellhead platforms like ST2.

Facilities

ST2 comprises multiple subsea-tied production wells completed from a small steel jacket structure exporting unprocessed or minimally processed gas fluids to the central processing complex (RNCPP). Produced well fluids are routed via dedicated pipelines to the slug catcher and separation facilities on RNCPP where 3-phase separation, dehydration, and metering occur before export. ST2 has no significant topside processing; utilities and power support are minimal due to its unmanned, normally unattended status. It relies on remote control and electrical/mechanical linkages via RNCPP for communications, safety systems, and export pipeline tie-ins. Gas leaves the processing complex via a 24-inch export pipeline to Cleeton and then onward to the UK mainland. WT and injection services are provided centrally; control is via RNCPP. The robust bridge-linked satellite design reduces offshore footprint while maintaining continuity of gas supply.
