Yadana
A shallow-water fixed gas-production complex in Myanmar’s Mottama offshore area, about 60 kilometres from the nearest landfall. First gas was achieved in 1998. In roughly 40–45 metres of water, bridge-linked production, processing, compression and accommodation platforms receive dry gas from wellhead platforms, dehydrate and compress it, then export it through dedicated pipelines toward Thailand and the Yangon domestic-gas system.

Field
Yadana is a giant dry-gas field in the Andaman Sea, within offshore Blocks M5 and M6. The reservoir is an Early Miocene carbonate buildup of the Upper Burman Limestone, commonly described as a porous reef or carbonate platform. Development uses platform-drilled horizontal wells feeding a central fixed-platform complex. The reservoir lies about 1,260–1,300 metres beneath the seabed and contains little or no condensate.
Facilities
The original offshore complex comprised two 12-slot wellhead platforms, a process platform, a quarters platform and a flare structure; a medium-compression platform was later bridge-linked to the central facilities as reservoir pressure declined. One original wellhead platform is adjacent to the process platform. The second is about 3.5 kilometres away and connects through a 20-inch well-effluent flowline, a 2-inch corrosion-inhibitor line and a subsea power-and-control cable, allowing remote operation from the quarters platform. Each original wellhead platform was equipped with a test separator and seven drilled wells: six horizontal producers and one vertical gas-water-contact monitoring well. The process platform carries two gas-dehydration trains, utilities and pig traps for the 36-inch export pipeline and 20-inch infield flowline. Upstream vessels and piping use corrosion-resistant materials because the wet gas contains carbon dioxide and potentially hydrogen sulphide. The compression platform boosts treated gas for export. The main 36-inch pipeline runs about 345–346 kilometres offshore to Da Min Seik, followed by approximately 63 kilometres onshore to the Thai border, where it connects with the Thai transmission system. A separate 24-inch pipeline provides the Yangon route. The quarters platform accommodates the field control room, workshops, stores, offices and living space for up to 96 people. It was designed with independent utilities and is physically separated from the process platform to reduce personnel exposure to process hazards.
