Vincent FPSO

Ngujima-Yin, commonly called the Vincent FPSO is a converted double-hull tanker FPSO that began production in 2008. It is moored over the Vincent development about 43 kilometres north of North West Cape, Western Australia, in approximately 340 metres of water. The vessel processes and stabilises crude from subsea wells, reinjects gas and water, stores oil and offloads directly to export tankers through a disconnectable submerged-turret system.

Vincent lies in the Exmouth Sub-basin of the Northern Carnarvon Basin. It is a mature offshore oil field developed through long horizontal subsea wells tied to a single FPSO. The reservoir belongs to the Lower Cretaceous Barrow Group and comprises thin, laterally variable fluvio-deltaic sandstone bodies. The permanent facility also receives the Greater Enfield accumulations through a 31-kilometre subsea tie-back, extending the production hub to remote deepwater reservoirs.

Facilities

The documented Vincent subsea system includes thirteen VNA and VNB horizontal wells, one dedicated gas-injection well and two dedicated water-injection wells, connected to the FPSO by subsea flowlines, risers and control infrastructure. The broader permanent installation also receives twelve Greater Enfield subsea wells through a 31-kilometre rigid production flowline; dedicated Greater Enfield water-injection wells receive treated seawater for pressure support. Vincent production enters two high-pressure separators, then passes through a low-pressure separator or degasser and an electrostatic coalescer. Treated crude is cooled, transferred to the converted tanker’s cargo tanks and offloaded to offtake tankers. Surplus gas is compressed and reinjected, while gas reinjection also provides artificial lift for the Cimatti accumulation. Produced formation water is normally reinjected, with treatment and discharge available as an alternative disposal route. Installed support systems include power generation, operational and emergency flaring, seawater treatment for cooling and potable-water service, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, sewage treatment, lifting equipment, helicopter facilities and marine-supply interfaces. The approximately 332-metre vessel has a double hull and substantial integral crude-storage capacity. A submerged turret production mooring at the bow carries the risers and permits the FPSO to disconnect and sail away, while the turret, mooring and subsea system remain on location for reconnection.
