Conwy NPAI

The Conwy platform is a Not Permanently Attended Installation (NPAI) in the Conwy oil field in the East Irish Sea, UK. Installed in 2012 and producing from 2016, it hosts production and injection wells for oil and is tied back via subsea flowlines and an umbilical to the nearby Douglas complex for processing and export.

Field

The Conwy field lies in Block 110/12a of the East Irish Sea, discovered in 2009. It contains oil accumulations with associated gas and water injection wells, developed with an NPAI tied to the Douglas complex for processing and export to onshore facilities.

Facilities

The Conwy NPAI platform is a normally unmanned wellhead structure hosting multiple production wells, water injection wells, and a condensate injector well drilled into the field reservoir. It is connected via an ~12-km, 8-inch subsea production flowline, an 8-inch water injection line, a 3-inch reject condensate line, and an electrohydraulic control/chemical injection umbilical to the ENI Douglas complex for separation and processing. There is no permanent accommodation; utilities include remote safety shutdown valves, basic power for control, chemical injection systems for flow assurance, and subsea well control. Produced fluids are commingled at the Douglas Complex where oil and water separation, gas handling and water treatment occur prior to export by pipeline or tankers. The umbilical provides power, data and chemical injection control. The Conwy installation integrates with Douglas processing and export infrastructure to ensure stable operations and reservoir management.
