The Trent Compression Platform is a four-leg fixed steel structure with a ~30m deck holding compression trains and associated equipment. It is bridge-linked to the Trent Production Platform (TP), receiving multiphase gas flows for intermediate pressure boosting before export. Topside comprises gas compressors with turbine/driven drivers, intercoolers, lube systems, control room and electrical distribution. The platform includes safety systems such as emergency shutdown (ESD), fire & gas detection, and isolation valves that integrate with TP. Utilities include local power generation (for instrument power and control systems), HVAC, instrument air, and communication links to Trent for coordinated operation. Produced gas from compression is exported via the ETS 24- pipeline to the Bacton Gas Terminal. Chemical injection points support flow assurance and corrosion control. The structure was designed for long-term offshore compression with slug catchers and coolers sized for the expected flow regime. Cessation of production and suspension documentation was approved in 2023, and decommissioning planning is underway.
