Jade
Jade is a normally unmanned wellhead platform in the Central North Sea developed for the Jade gas/condensate field, installed in 2002. It consists of minimal facilities hosting producing wells and is tied back via subsea pipeline to the nearby Judy host platform where processing occurs. Jade produces hydrocarbons remotely controlled from shore/infrastructure hubs.

Field
The Jade field sits in Blocks 30/2c (UKCS) and contains high-pressure/high-temperature gas with associated condensate from Triassic sandstones. Discovered in 1996 and commissioned in 2002, it is developed as a satellite tie-back to Judy, with central processing and export to the CATS pipeline and Norpipe system.
Facilities
Jade comprises a fixed jacket with multiple well slots, Xmas trees and manifolds. There is no significant on-platform processing; hydrocarbons flow via an approximately 17-km subsea piped tie-back to the Judy platform, which provides separation, dehydration and conditioning before export. Gas from Judy is sent through the Central Area Transmission System (CATS) to Teesside, and liquids via the Norpipe system to Seal Sands. Utility systems onboard Jade are minimal, including remote safety shutdown (ESD), instrument power and control systems, and chemical injection for hydrate/corrosion mitigation. The installation operates unmanned with remote monitoring and scheduled intervention and maintenance visits. Structural design accommodates HP/HT production parameters and North Sea environmental loads. There are no local compressors, significant separation trains, or living quarters; all major processing and control functions reside on Judy.
