Hoton
Hoton is an unmanned gas production platform in the West Sole area of the Southern North Sea, installed in the early 2000s to access satellite reserves of the West Sole gas field. It hosts wellheads and basic manifolding and exports dry gas via subsea pipeline to the West Sole complex for processing and export to the Easington Gas Terminal.

Field
The West Sole gas field underlies Blocks 48/6 and was the site of the UK's first offshore gas production beginning in 1967. It produces conventional Rotliegendes sandstone gas in the Southern North Sea and includes satellites like Hoton developed as NUIs tied into the West Sole infrastructure to sustain gas delivery to shore.
Facilities
Hoton's installation comprises a fixed steel jacket with a small deck supporting well slots, Xmas trees and a manifold. There is no significant on-platform processing; production gas flows via an ~11.8-km, 8-inch subsea pipeline to the West Sole WB or main processing hub where dehydration and conditioning take place before export ashore to Easington. Utility systems on Hoton are minimal, limited to remote safety shutdown (ESD) valves, local control power, instrument monitoring and chemical injection points for flow assurance (hydrate/corrosion control). The platform operates unmanned with remote monitoring and periodic maintenance visits. Fire & gas detection and automatic shutdown logic comply with UKCS safety standards. The structural design accommodates North Sea metocean loads and includes navigational aids; there is no significant accommodation or processing equipment onboard.
