Franklin WHP
Franklin WHP is a normally unmanned wellhead platform in the Central North Sea's Elgin-Franklin area, commissioned in 2001. It provides well support and fluid collection for the Franklin and West Franklin reservoirs. Fluids are routed to the Elgin PUQ for processing and export.

Field
The Franklin and adjacent West Franklin fields lie in the Central Graben, producing HP/HT gas and condensate from Fulmar formation sandstones. Developed jointly with Elgin, Franklin is tied via subsea pipelines to the central processing infrastructure to leverage economies of scale and advanced HP/HT handling.
Facilities
Franklin WHP consists of a steel jacket with well slots and manifold headers for production from Franklin and West Franklin wells. It does not house significant hydrocarbon processing; instead, it routes multiphase fluids via subsea flowlines to the Elgin PUQ platform where separation, dehydration, gas compression, and condensate stabilization occur. Topside facilities are limited to flow control, remote instrumentation, and wellhead support. Chemical injection systems manage hydrate formation and corrosion, and auxiliary power supports instrumentation and safety systems. Emergency shutdown and remote isolation are integrated with the PUQ control system. Routine well interventions are carried out by mobile drilling rigs operating in tandem with the wider complex. Export systems from the PUQ deliver gas to the Bacton terminal via the SEAL line and liquids via the Forties system.
