The Captain bridge-linked platform operates in conjunction with a Wellhead Protection Platform (WPP) and a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel. A network of subsea manifolds and pipelines ties production wells into the platforms. The bridge-linked platform houses separation equipment for multiphase fluids, hydrocarbon processing modules for crude and associated gas, utility systems for power and water handling, and living quarters. Crude is processed to meet export specifications aboard the FPSO which is moored nearby; shuttle tankers periodically offload stored oil for shore delivery. Associated gas is conditioned and exported via the Frigg UK Gas Transportation System to the St-Fergus Gas Terminal. Supporting systems include power generation (gas turbines), fire and gas detection, and automated control systems linked to onshore oversight. Chemical injection systems manage corrosion and hydrate formation. Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) infrastructure supports polymer or water injection to maintain reservoir pressure and optimize long-term recovery.
