Trent
A fixed offshore gas production and compression installation in the Southern North Sea, the Trent platform first produced gas in 1996. It comprises a production platform and a bridge-linked compression annex, handling initial separation and conditioning of gas from the Trent field and nearby tie-backs before export to the Bacton gas terminal. It has been in warm suspension following cessation of production activities.

Field
The Trent gas field lies in Block 43/24 of the Southern North Sea, discovered in the early 1990s. Developed with an unmanned production platform and linked compressor platform, Trent produced gas routed via the Eagles and Esmond Transmission System pipelines to shore at Bacton. Field geology is Rotliegendes sandstone typical of SNS developments.
Facilities
The Trent installation consists of a small, fixed steel production platform (TP) coupled by a bridge to a Mobile Offshore Application Barge (MOAB)-style compression annex (TC). Drilled wells feed gas to a production separator and scrubber on the TP that removes liquids and stabilizes flow. The TC houses two gas compression trains driven by gas turbines to boost export pressure for long-distance pipeline delivery. Instrument air, power generation (gas turbines and emergency diesels), control systems, and metering skid installations support the main process. Gas from the Trent installation was metered and exported via a 24-inch pipeline to a subsea manifold and onward through the Esmond Transmission System (ETS) to Bacton. Remote monitoring and control reduce offshore personnel requirements. Structural design emphasizes unmanned operation capability with periodic maintenance visits.
