Montrose A is a fixed steel jacket drilling, production and accommodation platform in the UK Central North Sea installed in 1975 and first producing oil in 1976. It processes crude and associated gas from the Montrose field and, via bridge connections and subsea systems, supports tie-backs and export functions.

Field
The Montrose field is a Palaeocene sandstone oil accumulation in Blocks-22/17 and 22/18 of the Central North Sea, discovered in 1971. It was developed with a single integrated platform; major expansions in the 2010s extended field life with additional bridge-linked processing capacity.
Facilities
Montrose A's steel jacket supports drilling facilities, wellheads and integrated process modules. Multiple production wells feed 3-phase separators, crude stabilizers and produced water treatment. Crude is exported through a 48-km 14-inch pipeline to the Forties Charlie pipeline system; associated gas historically was flared, with later facilities added for gas export via tie-ins such as WaGE/CATS. The platform has accommodation, control rooms, power generation, firewater and safety systems. A bridge-linked processing platform (installed 2016) added capacity for newer fields (Godwin, Cayley, Shaw) with additional separation and export routing. Utilities include electrical generation, chemical injection, HVAC and emergency systems. Produced water handling complies with environmental standards. Helideck and logistics systems support crew changes and resupply.
