Marnock ETAP PDR
The Marnock ETAP PDR (Processing, Drilling and Riser) platform is one of the central processing structures of the Eastern Trough Area Project in the UK Central North Sea. Commissioned in the late 1990s, it handles production fluids and riser reception from multiple fields within the ETAP area. It is bridge-linked to the QU platform which houses accommodation and utilities.

ETAP comprises several satellite oil and gas fields (Marnock, Mungo, Monan, Machar, Heron, Skua, Egret, Mirren and Madoes) developed around a central hub. Production began in 1998. Reservoir types include varied shallow to deeper marine sandstones. The CPF hub consolidates fluids from subsea manifolds and nearby wells.
Facilities
The PDR platform supports well risers and primary processing modules as part of the CPF. It receives production from Marnock wellheads and subsea tie-ins from satellite fields. Processing includes multiphase separation, initial gas dehydration and crude stabilization before onward treatment and export. Key export routes include oil via the Forties system to onshore terminals and gas via wet gas lines into regional networks. The PDR also incorporates drilling support systems for ongoing well interventions. Access to the QU platform (bridge-linked) provides accommodation, power generation, utilities and control rooms. Utilities include electrical power generation, HVAC, instrument air, produced water handling and chemical injection for corrosion and hydrate prevention. Safety systems integrate emergency shutdown, fire and gas detection and redundant controls. This partitioned design separates processing/risers from quarters for enhanced safety and operational efficiency.
