Forties FC
Forties Charlie (FC) is a fixed steel jacket platform in the Forties oilfield, installed in August-1974. It functions as the central gathering and processing hub for the field, receiving production from FA, FB, FD and FE via subsea pipelines. Charlie handles multiphase processing and routes exports to shore via the Forties Pipeline System.

Field
In the Forties field, reservoirs in Paleocene sandstones contain high-value oil and associated gas. Charlie is pivotal to collecting and processing field fluids, consolidating production streams from other platforms and serving as the export interface for the FPS. It was part of the original mid-1970s development.
Facilities
Forties Charlie's topsides include robust processing capacity with multiphase separators that split oil, gas and water from multiple input lines. Stabilized crude is exported via the 36" Forties Pipeline System to Cruden Bay, linking to Grangemouth's handling facilities. Gas is dehydrated, compressed and exported or used for onsite utilities. Charlie receives flows from Alpha (20â€), Bravo (14â€), and Delta (8â€) subsea lines. It hosts power generation, control rooms, HVAC, instrument air, and fire-water systems. Chemical injection units manage flow assurance and corrosion. Accommodation modules support rotating crews, and safety systems include emergency shutdown, flare stacks, and gas detection. Charlie integrates data and control for the wider Forties complex, coordinating processing and export operations. Its central position enables strategic handling of satellite tie-backs and optimization of export specifications into the FPS.
