Galleon PN

Galleon PN is the principal unmanned production platform in the Galleon gas field (UK Block 48/20). Installed in the early 1990s, it collects gas from horizontal wells and exports dry gas via pipeline to the Clipper hub for processing and onward delivery to the Bacton Gas Terminal. Its minimal infrastructure is focused on gathering and export.

Field

As part of the Southern North Sea Galleon conventional gas field, PN began production in 1994. The reservoir comprises Lower Permian Leman Sandstone, yielding dry gas and minor condensate which is routed to the Clipper complex, a regional processing hub that aggregates production from several fields.

Facilities

Galleon PN comprises an unmanned steel jacket with horizontal wellheads and subsea tie-backs. Its topside includes flowlines, manifolds, control valves, and safety shutdown systems but no major processing trains; separation and gas conditioning occur at the Clipper hub. Fluids from PN travel via dedicated pipelines to Clipper, where slug catching, dehydration, compression and metering ensure gas meets export specifications for the UK grid via the Bacton pipeline. PN's limited utilities include remote instrumentation and emergency systems powered through umbilicals from Clipper. There are no permanent accommodation or processing modules on PN, reflecting its role as a satellite producer within the Sole Pit area infrastructure. Structural design meets UKCS harsh environment codes and supports integration into the regional export network.
