Cleeton CC

Cleeton CC is a fixed steel compression platform in the UK southern North Sea, part of the Cleeton hub in Block 42/29. Installed in 1995 to support gas production by increasing wellhead pressure, it handles gas compression and boosts throughput to export pipelines. The installation is bridge-linked to the Cleeton CPQ and Wellhead tower.

Field

The Cleeton field lies ~54 km east of Flamborough Head in the southern North Sea. Discovered in 1983, it produces from a Permian Lower Leman Sandstone reservoir. Originally producing gas to Dimlington, Cleeton is now a gathering hub receiving gas from several satellite fields. Its development focused on gas production and compression infrastructure.

Facilities

Cleeton CC houses gas compression equipment integral to the hub's gas handling system. Wells from the wellhead tower feed gas to CPQ for initial processing before entering CC for pressure boosting. Compression consists of multi-stage gas compressors enabling sustained export pressure to the Dimlington gas terminal. The platform integrates utility systems (power generation, fuel gas, HVAC) and control systems coordinated with CPQ and CW. Gas dehydrated and treated on CPQ is routed to CC for recompression. CC supports export via a 36-inch pipeline to shore, interfacing with gas measurement and safety shutdown systems. Water and chemical injection systems support flow assurance, and emergency systems include firewater, deluge, and flare connections. Space is allocated for maintenance workshops and safety refuge areas. The design emphasizes integration with adjacent bridge-linked platforms for centralized operations and maintenance access. Stable infrastructure includes fixed steel legs and topsides accommodating compression trains, associated piping, and electrical systems.
