The Kraken FPSO supports subsea production and injection wells via risers and umbilicals. Processing facilities include three-phase separation, crude oil heating, stabilization, and produced water treatment. Due to the heavy oil properties, extensive heating and flow assurance systems are installed throughout the processing train. Produced water is treated and reinjected for pressure support. Associated gas is used for fuel, with surplus managed through controlled systems. The FPSO provides large crude storage capacity and offloads stabilized oil to shuttle tankers in tandem configuration. Utilities include power generation, seawater lift, firewater and deluge systems, inert gas systems, chemical injection, and integrated control and safety systems. The vessel is turret-moored, allowing it to weathervane, and is designed for long-term operation in North Sea conditions.
