Field
The Cygnus gas field is located in the UK southern North Sea and produces from Permian Leman Sandstone reservoirs. Developed as a multi-platform hub, the field relies on shared accommodation and utilities to support continuous gas production and export operations.
Facilities
The QU platform houses accommodation facilities including cabins, galley, medical suite, offices, and recreational areas. It contains the central control room overseeing production, processing, utilities, and export systems across the Cygnus A complex. Utilities include power generation or distribution, potable water, sewage treatment, instrument air, HVAC, and communications. The platform supports helideck operations and emergency response coordination. Fire and gas detection systems, deluge, lifeboats, and emergency shutdown interfaces ensure personnel safety. Bridge links provide safe access between QU and PU platforms, enabling shared services and maintenance. The platform plays a stable long-term role as the living and operational centre of the Cygnus field infrastructure.
