Field
The Beryl oil field is located in the UK northern North Sea and produces oil from Jurassic sandstone reservoirs. Developed with multiple export routes, the field incorporates offshore loading systems to ensure reliable crude export under varying operating conditions.
Facilities
SPM3 operates similarly to SPM2, providing a weathervaning mooring point for shuttle tankers during crude export. Oil is delivered from the Beryl production platforms through subsea pipelines to the buoy and transferred to tankers via floating hoses. The system includes swivel assemblies, isolation valves, control instrumentation, and emergency shutdown systems. Anchored to the seabed by multiple chains, the buoy is designed for long-term durability in harsh North Sea conditions. SPM3 enhances export flexibility and reliability as part of the Beryl field's established offshore loading infrastructure.
