Shwe
An integrated fixed drilling, production and gas-processing platform serving the Shwe offshore development in Myanmar’s Bay of Bengal. Production began in 2013. Installed in about 110–111 metres of water, the platform handles gas and condensate from platform wells and a subsea manifold, provides central processing and compression, and exports sales gas through a 32-inch subsea pipeline to the Kyaukphyu onshore gas terminal.

Field
The Shwe development lies in Blocks A1 and A3 of the Rakhine Basin, about 60–70 kilometres offshore Myanmar’s Rakhine coast. It integrates the Shwe, Shwe Phyu and Mya gas-condensate areas. The large to giant accumulation is hosted mainly in Pliocene deep-water turbidite sandstones, organised as shingled lobes and stratigraphic compartments. Development combines a central fixed platform with subsea wells, manifolds and multiphase tie-back flowlines.
Facilities
The Shwe installation is a large integrated steel-jacket platform carrying drilling, production and processing equipment. The jacket, weighing about 22,000 tonnes, was installed in approximately 110 metres of water; the roughly 30,000-tonne topsides were set by float-over. The platform provides accommodation for about 200 people and incorporates drilling facilities for platform wells. Public project descriptions identify eleven wells associated with the production-and-processing platform and four wells connected through the Mya-North subsea wellhead and manifold. The subsea system gathers multiphase production and sends it to the platform through a dedicated infield flowline. At the central platform, incoming gas-condensate streams are received, separated and processed. The topsides combine drilling, production, gas treatment and compression functions, while the remote Mya wells are controlled through the subsea production system. This arrangement makes the Shwe platform the physical hub for the integrated Shwe, Shwe Phyu and Mya development rather than an isolated single-field platform. Processed gas leaves through a 32-inch export pipeline approximately 105–110 kilometres long. The offshore line connects to a short 32-inch landfall section and the onshore gas terminal at Kyaukphyu. The terminal includes a jetty and supply-base facilities and forms the interface with the permanent Myanmar–China transmission pipeline. The installation’s defining long-term features are its combined drilling-and-processing topsides, large float-over structure, platform-well and subsea-well architecture, central compression role and direct pipeline export to shore.
