Shah Deniz Bravo

Shah Deniz Bravo is a fixed, bridge-linked gas-and-condensate production complex comprising the SDB Production and Risers platform and the SDB Quarters and Utilities platform. First production was achieved on 30 July 2018. Installed in approximately 94 metres of water, it receives deep-water subsea wells and exports separated gas and condensate through permanent pipelines to the Sangachal Terminal.

Field

The giant Shah Deniz gas-condensate field lies about 70 kilometres south-east of Baku in the South Caspian Basin. Its principal reservoirs are overpressured Pliocene Productive Series sandstones, including the Fasila packages and Balakhany VIII interval. Shah Deniz Stage 2 develops multiple deep-water flanks through subsea well clusters connected to Bravo, extending production beyond the original Shah Deniz Alpha development.

Facilities

Shah Deniz Stage 2 was designed around 26 subsea gas-production wells distributed among the North, West, East South, West South and East North flank clusters. The wells, drilled to depths approaching 7,000 metres, connect through subsea trees, manifolds, flowlines and electro-hydraulic umbilicals. The overall development incorporates approximately 500 kilometres of subsea pipelines and flowlines in water depths reaching about 550 metres. The bridge-linked Bravo complex separates production and higher-hazard equipment from accommodation and principal utilities. The Production and Risers platform contains ten flowline-reception facilities, five production separators, two flash-gas compressors, three production-export flowlines and a 133-metre flare boom. The Quarters and Utilities platform provides electrical generation and distribution, control facilities, firewater, emergency systems, telecommunications, helideck and living quarters. Other permanent systems include production metering, chemical and monoethylene-glycol services, pressure relief, fire-and-gas detection, emergency shutdown and subsea controls. Separated gas and condensate are transported through dedicated subsea export pipelines to the expanded Shah Deniz facilities at the Sangachal Terminal. Full gas and condensate processing, gas dehydration and export compression are performed onshore. Sales gas enters the expanded South Caucasus Pipeline, continuing through TANAP and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline toward Turkish and European markets. Stabilised condensate is blended into the crude-export system and transported through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline. Bravo has no offshore hydrocarbon storage or tanker-loading capability.
