The Payara development comprises 41 subsea wells distributed among ten drill centres: 20 oil producers and 21 water- or gas-injection wells. Production and injection trees connect to seabed manifolds, flowlines, flexible risers and electro-hydraulic umbilicals. These systems transport hydrocarbons and injection fluids while supplying hydraulic control, communications, monitoring and production chemicals to the well network. Prosperity’s topsides provide multiphase separation, crude treatment and stabilisation, associated-gas treatment, dehydration and compression, produced-water handling, seawater treatment and high-pressure reservoir injection. Gas is retained for fuel and reinjection rather than routinely exported through a sales-gas pipeline. Permanent supporting systems include chemical injection, production and export metering, onboard electrical generation, flare and pressure relief, firewater, fire-and-gas detection, emergency shutdown, integrated process and subsea controls, cargo handling, telecommunications and living quarters. The vessel uses SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward design, combining a purpose-built multi-purpose-floater hull with standardised topside modules. Its arrangement largely replicates Liza Unity. Prosperity is permanently held by a spread-mooring system in approximately 1,900 metres of water and does not employ a weathervaning turret. The hull stores approximately two million barrels of stabilised crude. Export tankers receive oil through the stern tandem-offloading system; no permanent crude pipeline connects the FPSO to shore.
