Åsgard A

Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel on the Åsgard field in the central Norwegian Sea, commissioned in 1999. Handles crude lift and some processing, stores hydrocarbons onboard and offloads to shuttle tankers. Performs production and injection support.

Åsgard Field - A large Norwegian Sea gas and condensate field with associated oil and condensate accumulation. Discovered in 1981, production began in 1999. Multiple accumulations (Smørbukk, Smørbukk Sør, Midgard, BlÃ¥bjørn) produce mainly gas and condensate from Jurassic reservoirs.

Facilities

Åsgard A is the principal FPSO host facility, receiving subsea wellstreams via manifold and riser systems from dedicated seabed templates. Onboard systems perform primary separation of oil, gas and produced water, storage of stabilized crude, and offloading to shuttle tankers via stern loading arrangements. Gas and condensate streams are further processed or routed to associated steel semi-submersible (Åsgard B) for gas treatment and condensate stabilization. The FPSO integrates power generation (gas turbines) and utilities (HVAC, fire water, produced-water handling), and houses accommodation for crew. Subsea tie-backs from satellite accumulations and gas injection facilities support reservoir management. Export routes include tanker offloading for liquids and pipeline export of processed gas via the Åsgard Transport System (Ã…TS) to Kårstø. Control and safety systems provide fieldwide SCADA, ESD, and subsea monitoring.
