Valhall IP
Valhall IP (Injection Platform) is a fixed jacket platform at the Valhall oil field in the southern Norwegian North Sea, installed in 2003 to manage water injection for pressure support. It sits bridge-linked to the Valhall WP and integrates with the central Valhall complex, complementing production and support installations.

Field
The Valhall field, discovered in 1975 and producing since 1982, lies in chalk reservoirs of the Tor and Hod formations at ~2-400-m depth in ~70-m water depth. Extensive redevelopment has extended field life through multiple platforms and enhanced recovery strategies.
Facilities
Valhall IP's primary role is to inject treated seawater into reservoir zones to maintain pressure and improve oil recovery. The steel jacket supports a topside equipped with seawater intake, treatment and pumping modules, produced water handling, and injection headers feeding multiple wells drilled from the platform. Water injection infrastructure includes high-pressure pumps, filtration systems to remove particulates, and subsea umbilicals and control systems coordinating with downhole valves. IP also provides utility systems such as power generation (initially local turbines later integrated with power from shore via cable), chemical dosing, and emergency shutdown systems. Integration with Valhall WP and other bridge-linked platforms allows centralized control and diagnostics, as well as redundancy for safety and reservoir management. Produced fluids not suitable for injection are routed to the central processing facility (PH) or exported via pipelines to the Ekofisk complex (oil) and Norpipe (gas). Structural members and topsides modules are designed for long-term service in the North Sea, with corrosion protection, access systems, and monitoring instrumentation to support continuous water injection operations.
