Valhall Flanke Vest is a normally unmanned fixed wellhead platform installed in 2012 as part of the Valhall field redevelopment in the Norwegian North Sea. The installation supports oil production from the western flank of the Valhall field and is remotely operated.

Field

The Valhall field is located in the southern Norwegian North Sea and produces oil from fractured chalk reservoirs of Late Cretaceous age. It is a long-producing field developed with multiple platforms and subsea infrastructure to access flank resources.

Facilities

Valhall Flanke Vest is designed as a wellhead-only installation with production wells drilled to access remaining reserves on the western flank of the field. The platform has no processing facilities; produced fluids are routed via subsea pipelines to the Valhall processing and utility hub for separation and treatment. It is normally unmanned and operated remotely, relying on centralized control systems. The installation includes well control equipment, safety systems, and basic utilities necessary for unattended operation. Its design reflects the redevelopment strategy of Valhall, focusing on extended field life and improved recovery from chalk reservoirs using modern drilling and monitoring techniques.
