Eldfisk L-BS

Ekofisk L-BS is a bridge support structure associated with the Ekofisk L platform. These smaller steel substructures support the bridge connection between the main jacket of Ekofisk L and adjacent modules or other platforms within the Ekofisk complex, ensuring structural stability and safe personnel/utility access.

Field

As part of the Ekofisk field, L-BS does not itself process hydrocarbons but supports operations across the matured and water-injected chalk reservoir system that spans the Greater Ekofisk Area.

Facilities

Ekofisk L-BS comprises a minimal jacket and deck frames sized to carry a bridge and utility trays between large topside modules. Its role is to provide rigid, seafastened support for the structural splice between Ekofisk L and adjacent decks, reducing fatigue loads and enabling safe maintenance access. Utility lines for power, communications, and safety systems are routed over the bridge, and fall-protection and personnel access systems integrate with adjacent installations' safety regimes. L-BS itself has no hydrocarbon processing, drilling, or export functions; it is a stable structural member in the Ekofisk platform network designed to withstand North Sea metocean conditions.
