Europipe infrastructure comprises the deepwater pipeline segment (offshore) and associated riser systems at the Draupner E platform where flow from Norwegian gas fields is commingled and fed southward. Offshore, the pipeline spans ~620-660-km, 40-inch diameter, with subsea engineering designed to handle high-pressure dry gas. At the Dornum landfall terminal, pressure is reduced, metered, and quality-checked before the gas enters the onshore 42-inch connection to the Emden metering station. Utilities include corrosion protection (cathodic), remote control and monitoring via SCADA, pigging launchers/receivers for maintenance, and emergency isolation valves. Europipe ensures reliable export capacity for Norwegian gas into continental Europe's transmission grid as part of the Gassled/Gassco system.
