Dornum's facilities include high-pressure gas reception units, filtration and dehydration systems as needed, metering stations for fiscal and quality measurement, and pressure regulation to integrate the incoming flows into the onshore grid. It forms the interface between offshore pipeline infrastructure and the continental transmission network. Utility systems include power, control and safety (e.g., emergency shutdown systems), telemetry/SCADA communication links to operators, and connections to downstream pipelines (e.g., to Emden metering stations). Dornum handles the significant volumes delivered via Europipe I (40” pipeline from Draupner E) and Europipe II (42” line from Kårstø).
