L6-B is a small unmanned “minimum facility†gas production platform in the Dutch sector of the Southern North Sea, installed in 2014 and producing since 2015. It supports primary natural gas extraction with very limited local processing, tied directly to the larger L8-P4 platform via pipeline and umbilical for control and power.

The L6-B field is a small natural gas prospect in ~30-35-m water depth on the Netherlands Continental Shelf. Gas is produced from shallow Permian or Slochteren Formation sandstones typical of the Southern North Sea and exported via subsea pipeline to L8-P4 for processing and onward transport.
Facilities
L6-B's structure comprises a minimalist steel wellhead and production platform anchored by suction piles with a light topside capable of accommodating two wells. There is no accommodation or helideck. Because processing on L6-B is minimal, produced gas flows immediately via a subsea pipeline (~8-inch) to L8-P4 where separation and compression occur. An electrical and control umbilical (~19.5-km) from L8-P4 supplies power, controls, and monitoring to the remote L6-B. Utilities on L6-B are limited to essential subsea control umbilical interfaces, wellhead control, and flow metering; higher-order processing and export conditioning are delegated to the host platform L8-P4.
