L5a-D

L5a-D is a fixed offshore gas production platform in the Dutch North Sea, installed around 2013 to develop the L5a-D field. It has been connected to high-pressure, high-temperature wells and exports gas via pipeline networks tied into the NOGAT export system.

Field

The L5a-D field is a deep, high-pressure gas accumulation in the Dutch sector. Production includes gas (via L5a-D4 and other wells) with flows transported through offshore infrastructure into national export routes.

Facilities

L5a-D comprises an unmanned platform with gas production wellheads, flowlines and basic processing modules. It handles initial separation and export preparation before injecting gas into pipelines leading to central processing or directly into export trunk lines (NOGAT). On-platform utilities include control systems, emergency shutdown (ESD), remote monitoring, and minimal instrument power. The platform's infrastructure supports periodic servicing and integration with the broader Dutch offshore gas network enabling sustained export.
