Field
The K5b cluster overlaps with the K05a-B conventional gas field in shallow North Sea waters. Reservoirs produce natural gas from Permian formations, developed through a network of wellheads and platforms feeding central processing.
Facilities
K5-CU includes a steel jacket and topsides with slots for wells and manifold headers. Gas gathered here is routed through export pipelines to nearby processing hubs rather than processed in-situ. Facilities focus on flow control, metering, and safe shutdown systems managed remotely. Electrical systems power instrumentation and communications. Export pipelines connect K5-CU into the existing K-area infrastructure, which in turn ties into higher-capacity trunk pipelines to shore.
