Q4-A
Q4-A was a fixed offshore gas production platform in the Dutch sector of the Southern North Sea, installed around 2000 to exploit the Q4 gas accumulation. It was designed for hydrocarbon production, processing, and export via subsea pipelines. Q4-A has since been fully decommissioned and removed as part of Wintershall Noordzee's decommissioning programme.

Field
The Q4 gas fields comprise a cluster of conventional gas accumulations in the Dutch North Sea. Q4-A, along with Q4-B and Q4-C, targeted Rotliegend and related sandstone reservoirs. The fields were developed for gas export into regional pipelines feeding processing infrastructure onshore and into broader European markets.
Facilities
Q4-A's fixed steel jacket supported topsides for drilling, production well interfaces, and initial process modules for gas handling. Gas from the Q4 area was routed via subsea flowlines into the onshore gas grid, historically connecting into the broader Dutch/UK network. Key infrastructure included well risers, subsea manifolds, and export pipelines sized for high-calorific natural gas. Utilities comprised platform power systems, basic dehydration and gas metering, and control/shutdown systems integrated with remote monitoring. Following cessation of production, Q4-A was decommissioned: topsides and jackets were lifted and transported for recycling in compliance with North Sea decommissioning standards.
