The P15/P18 gas fields are shallow conventional gas accumulations in blocks P15a/b and P18a, developed with both platform and subsea wells. The gas typically requires separation and treatment offshore before export into the national gas grid via Maasvlakte export pipelines.

P15D serves as the central gas processing and export hub for the P15/P18 area. It receives unprocessed gas from satellite platforms (P15E, P15F, P15G, P18A) and subsea completions. Facilities include multiphase separation, gas dehydration, condensate stabilization, and gas export metering. There are gas compression trains sized to boost gas for export pressure requirements. Produced liquids are stabilized and metered before export or routing to nearby oil facilities like Rijn C. Utilities include on-platform power generation, firewater, water treatment, and integrated control systems (DCS, ESD). The platform supports export of conditioned gas via a dedicated pipeline to Maasvlakte near Rotterdam, linking into the national gas network. The structure is designed for sustained offshore processing operations with routine maintenance access.
