L8P
L8P was a fixed offshore gas production platform in the Dutch Southern North Sea, part of the Wintershall Noordzee asset portfolio. It historically acted as a host to satellite wells, including L6-B, and as a tie-in point for gas export. The original structure has been scheduled for decommissioning operations as of 2025.

Field
The L8P area is within the L8 block of the Southern North Sea, a gas-bearing region developed for hydrocarbon production from Permian and Slochteren Formation sandstones. Production from fields in the area has historically been exported via subsea pipelines to onshore processing and transmission systems.
Facilities
L8P's steel jacket and topsides supported wellheads and processing facilities for natural gas from nearby reservoirs. Gas handling included wellstream reception, initial separation if required, dehydration and metering for export into the Dutch gas grid. The platform also provided a control and power hub for satellite installations like L6-B via umbilical and pipeline connections. Utilities comprised platform power generation, well control systems, safety and fire systems, and subsea pipeline interfaces. As of 2025, Wind-down and removal campaigns have commenced under planned decommissioning, with topside and jacket removal operations underway.
