K5P

A fixed steel gas production and processing platform in the K05 block, installed in 1993. It is the central production hub in the K05/K05a cluster, supporting gas gathering, separation, and export functions. The platform includes limited accommodation and links to satellite platforms such as K5EN/C and K5PK.

Field

The K05/K05a offshore gas fields are conventional shallow-water accumulations in the Dutch North Sea. Reservoirs are primarily Rotliegend sandstones with multiple satellite wellheads feeding central production and export infrastructure. The field was developed in the early 1990s and has remained a stable gas producer via clustered platforms and pipeline networks.

Facilities

K5P houses the core processing facilities for the K05 area: wellheads feed into three-phase separation, gas dehydration (to meet pipeline specs), metering, and pressure boosting/compression equipment to prepare gas for export. The platform also supports drilling operations on its own slots and collects flows from satellites including K5EN/C and K5PK via subsea flowlines or bridgelinks. Utility systems include power generation for processing and safety systems, chemical injection for hydrate control and corrosion inhibition, produced water management, and remote monitoring. Export gas is routed into subsea pipelines that tie into the Dutch onshore grid or adjacent hub networks. The platform's accommodation facilities support periodic crew rotations for maintenance and operations.
