K12-C

K12-C is a fixed gas platform in the K12 block of the Dutch North Sea, commissioned in the early 1990s. It functions as a production and gas processing hub within the K7-K12 field, linking satellite wellheads and providing initial separation and compression ahead of export into regional pipelines.

Field

The K7-K12 gas fields consist of Rotliegendes sandstone reservoirs producing conventional natural gas offshore the Netherlands. K12-C serves as one of the processing platforms in the network developed to aggregate and export gas from multiple satellites.

Facilities

K12-C's facilities include production well slots, separators, and possibly compression and dehydration to condition gas to export standards. Manifolds collect flows from connected satellites and subsea wells. The platform's electrical generation supports control systems, instrumentation, and safety systems including fire/gas detection and ESD. Utility systems such as instrument air, cooling, and emergency services are configured for unmanned operation with remote supervision. Export infrastructure ties into the national gas grid via subsea pipelines. The design incorporates robust corrosion control, cathodic protection for subsea assets, and periodic vessel-based inspection and maintenance to sustain long-term operation of topsides and subsea infrastructure.
