Field
The Ameland-Westgat field is a conventional offshore gas province near Ameland in the Dutch sector, producing from Upper Slochteren formation reservoirs. AME-2 functions as a local wellhead collector feeding gas to the main AWG-1 platform, which processes combined production from AME-1 (onshore) and AME-2.
Facilities
AME-2's facilities consist of a fixed four-leg jacket supporting multiple well slots and manifolds that collect gas from the local field area. There are no major processing modules on AME-2; instead, subsea flowlines transport gas to the AWG-1 platform where initial separation, dehydration, and export compression occur. Electrical power, control signals and safety monitoring are provided via umbilicals tied to AWG-1 or through integrated remote systems. The jacket structure is designed for shallow water operation (~a few hundred metres offshore) with corrosion protection and subsea control systems as stable features. Well control systems and flow assurance measures such as pigging and chemical injection are part of the subsea infrastructure but are administered from AWG-1. Exported gas from AWG-1 enters the Noordgastransport pipeline network.
