The original Corocoro development provided for 24 oil wells, offshore platforms, temporary and permanent floating units and approximately 44 kilometres of submarine pipelines. The fixed wellhead platform is connected by bridge to the Corocoro Central Production Facility, where produced fluids are gathered and processed before crude is transferred to Nabarima. The central-platform topsides weigh approximately 7,400 tonnes and were installed in very shallow water using a specialised float-over operation. Nabarima is an FSO rather than an FPSO. No production wells, hydrocarbon-separation trains, water-injection facilities or gas-processing plant are installed on the vessel. Its permanent functions are receipt of processed Corocoro crude, bulk storage, cargo management and transfer to export tankers. The vessel connects to the offshore production system through an approximately 23-kilometre pipeline arrangement. Crude is retained in the double-hull storage tanks until an export vessel connects to the loading system. The FSO is approximately 258 metres long and 52 metres wide, with a deadweight of about 207,700 tonnes. It has no propulsion machinery and is maintained at the field by a permanent multi-point seabed mooring system rather than a weathervaning turret. Its storage capacity is approximately 1.4 million barrels. Shipboard infrastructure supports cargo and ballast management, electrical and control functions, marine safety, accommodation and tanker-loading operations. Nabarima is therefore the terminal element of the Corocoro development, not its processing host.
