Kizomba B lies east of Kizomba A in the deep-water Lower Congo Basin. Kissanje and Dikanza are large oil accumulations hosted mainly by Middle- to Lower-Miocene deep-marine turbidite sandstones. Reservoir channel complexes are affected by faulting and salt-related deformation, with stratigraphic pinch-out and overlying slope shales providing important lateral and top citeturn232016search3turn232016search12turn627532search12
Facilities
Kizomba B uses a 36-slot tension-leg surface wellhead platform, three subsea satellite drill centres and a separate close-moored FPSO. Development records identify 58 production or injection wells: 34 dry-tree wells located on the TLP and 24 subsea wells distributed among the satellite centres. The TLP supports drilling, completion, routine well intervention and production manifolding. Subsea trees, flowlines and electro-hydraulic umbilicals connect the satellite wells to the production system. The TLP and FPSO are linked by suspended flexible fluid-transfer lines carrying well fluids and supporting services. The FPSO processes the combined dry-tree and subsea production through two separation trains. Documented onboard equipment includes production manifolds, gas compression, produced-water treatment and chemical-injection systems. Water-injection and gas-injection infrastructure provides reservoir-pressure support, while associated gas not used as fuel is compressed for injection. Kizomba B intentionally duplicated the principal Kizomba A design. Its ship-shaped hull measures approximately 285 metres long and 63 metres wide and stores about 2.2 million barrels of stabilised crude. A permanent spread-mooring system maintains the fixed vessel heading and close separation from the TLP. Utilities include onboard electrical generation, metering, flare and pressure-relief equipment, process and subsea control, emergency shutdown, fire-and-gas detection, firewater, cargo systems and accommodation. Crude is exported through a dedicated catenary-anchor-leg loading buoy situated about 1.3 nautical miles north-west of the FPSO. Two rigid 20-inch offloading lines connect the vessel and buoy.
