Kizomba A lies in the deep-water Lower Congo Basin, roughly 320 kilometres offshore Angola. Hungo and Chocalho form part of the giant Kizomba petroleum system. Reservoirs are predominantly Middle- to Lower-Miocene deep-water turbidite sandstones deposited in slope-channel complexes. Facilities

The Kizomba A development combines a 36-slot tension-leg surface wellhead platform, four subsea satellite drill centres and the adjacent FPSO. Public development documentation identifies 33 dry-tree wells on the TLP and 26 subsea production or injection wells. The TLP carries the drilling and well-intervention system, production manifolds and direct-access wellheads. Seabed flowlines gather the satellite wells, while eight suspended flexible fluid-transfer lines connect the TLP and FPSO. The FPSO receives and processes all Kizomba A production. Documented topside systems include two separation trains, production manifolds, high-pressure gas compression, produced-water treatment and chemical injection. Water and compressed gas are returned to injection wells through dedicated subsea lines and steel lazy-wave or offset risers. Associated gas not required for fuel is conserved through reservoir injection. The vessel has a 375,000-deadweight-tonne purpose-built hull with storage for approximately 2.2 million barrels. Its 15-leg semi-taut spread-mooring system combines spiral-strand wire, chain and suction-pile anchors, maintaining a fixed relationship with the nearby TLP. Permanent support systems include electrical generation, metering, flare and relief equipment, firewater, emergency shutdown, fire-and-gas detection, subsea controls, marine systems and accommodation. Crude export uses a separate catenary-anchor-leg loading buoy. Two 20-inch rigid steel offloading pipelines connect the FPSO to the buoy, where tankers moor and receive stabilised crude.
