Dulang B
A manned, fixed steel-jacket central production and drilling platform in the Dulang oil field offshore Peninsular Malaysia. Installed for Phase I, it supported first production in March 1991 in about 76 metres of water. The platform receives full-wellstream fluids from Dulang A, C and D, processes and stabilises crude, supplies field injection and gas-lift services, and exports oil to a nearby FSO.

Field
Dulang is a large, mature oil field in the Malay Basin, about 130 kilometres northeast of Kuala Terengganu in the South China Sea. The accumulation is a complex, east–west-trending faulted anticline divided into western, unit and eastern areas. Oil occurs in numerous stacked late Miocene Group D and Group E sandstones, including tidal, fluvial and deltaic reservoir intervals. Development uses four fixed platforms and an FSO.
Facilities
Dulang B is the field’s central integrated platform and also provides access to platform-drilled wells. Full-wellstream pipelines from the unmanned Dulang A, C and D drilling platforms terminate at B, concentrating field processing at one continuously staffed hub. Installed wellhead-control equipment governs B’s own wells, while production manifolds receive both local and satellite streams. Marine-terminal documentation confirms that the platform processes and stabilises Dulang crude before pumping it through a submarine oil pipeline to the storage vessel moored about one nautical mile south. The platform contains oil, gas and water handling equipment, including a documented production separator, crude-treatment facilities, gas compression and water-injection pumps. Gas lift is distributed from B through dedicated 6-inch subsea lines to the satellite platforms. Waterflood and gas-injection facilities were commissioned as part of the field development, and Dulang subsequently used produced gas and treated seawater for immiscible water-alternating-gas injection. B therefore provides the compression and pumping interface for reservoir-pressure support as well as production processing. Permanent utilities include turbine generators, instrument and control systems, wellhead-control panels, fire-and-gas detection and a flare. The installation incorporates living quarters for the central operating crew. Stabilised oil is exported to the single-point-moored FSO, where it is stored and transferred to visiting tankers through the vessel’s tandem-offloading system. The satellite platforms have no independent crude-storage or tanker-loading facilities.
