Dulang A
Dulang A is a fixed wellhead and drilling platform in the Dulang field, approximately 130 kilometres offshore Terengganu in about 75–77 metres of water. First production began in March 1991. The platform sends wellstream by subsea pipeline to the manned Dulang B central production platform for processing and subsequent transfer to the field’s dedicated floating storage and offloading vessel.

Field
Dulang is a major oil field in the Malay Basin, discovered in 1981 and extending approximately 24 kilometres by 3.5 kilometres. Nineteen productive sandstone intervals occur within Middle- to Late-Miocene Groups D and E. The faulted, multi-reservoir accumulation is developed through Dulang A, C and D wellhead platforms, with central processing at Dulang B and waterflood and water-alternating-gas recovery support.
Facilities
Dulang A is one of three 32-slot fixed wellhead and drilling platforms installed across the field; Dulang C and Dulang D perform equivalent satellite roles. Its steel jacket supports surface wellheads, production and injection manifolds, well-control equipment and the utilities required for a satellite installation. The field’s production and injection duties are distributed among the three platforms and include oil producers, water injectors and wells used in the immiscible water-alternating-gas programme. Full wellstream from Dulang A is transported by subsea pipeline to Dulang B, the central integrated production platform. Dulang B performs oil, gas and water separation, crude stabilisation, produced-water handling and field-fluid pumping. The field’s injection system reinjects treated seawater and produced gas to support reservoir pressure and improve sweep. Centralised utilities and control at Dulang B support the satellite platforms through the field’s pipeline, power and communications network. After stabilisation, crude is pumped from Dulang B through a submarine pipeline to the dedicated Dulang FSO, moored approximately one nautical mile away. The FSO stores the crude and transfers it to export tankers through a tandem-offloading arrangement. Dulang A itself has no bulk processing train, living quarters, crude storage or tanker-loading system. Its permanent safety and support equipment includes emergency shutdown, fire-and-gas detection, chemical-injection interfaces, telecommunications, navigation aids and marine-access facilities.
