Coral South is developed through six subsea gas wells drilled in approximately 2,000 metres of water. Subsea trees, gathering equipment, flexible flowlines, risers and electro-hydraulic umbilicals transport the untreated gas-condensate stream and provide well control between the seabed and Coral Sul. The wells have an average drilled depth of about 3,000 metres. The FLNG carries twelve principal gas-treatment and liquefaction modules. Installed functions include inlet separation, feed-gas treatment, dehydration, condensate stabilisation, refrigerant compression, boil-off-gas handling and LNG liquefaction using the AP-DMR dual-mixed-refrigerant process. Condensate and LNG are stored separately within the hull. Four marine loading arms support side-by-side LNG transfer to carriers. Metering, chemical systems, flare and pressure relief, onboard power generation, firewater, fire-and-gas detection, emergency shutdown, process and subsea controls, marine utilities and an eight-storey accommodation block support permanent operation. The ship-shaped facility is approximately 432 metres long and 66 metres wide. Eight Mark III membrane LNG tanks provide 238,700 cubic metres of LNG storage, with separate condensate storage. A turret system connects the subsea risers and allows the vessel to respond to changing environmental loads. Twenty permanent mooring lines, with a combined weight of about 9,000 tonnes, secure the unit at the ultra-deep-water site. LNG carriers load directly alongside through the four-arm transfer system, while condensate is also exported by tanker. No permanent product pipeline links Coral Sul to shore.
